Andrew Cotton Chamberlayne has spent a lifetime of traveling the BC Coast. From his first visit to a grandfather’s fishing lodge at Sakinaw Lake, Pender Harbour, through years as a commercial fisherman and then as special effects coordinator for film and TV, Cotton Chamberlayne’s appreciation of the heritage and beauty of his home province have been translated into a series of stunning photographs.
Printed on fine art canvas with fade-resistent archival-quality vivera pigment inks, each work has a painterly composition and style that moves these works into a new dimension. They are visually stunning, and emotionally satisfying. “People like to touch them,” says Gift of the Eagle Gallery owner Carol Doyle. “It’s like they can’t believe it’s a photograph – they’re checking for the texture of the paint!”

Chamberlayne explains that “a picture has to tell a story, evoke an emotion, take the viewer to a different moment or place,” he says.
